No thanks, I'm pregnant

Support from partners, family and friends

Social activities with your family and friends can often involve people drinking alcohol or take place in venues where alcohol is being served. Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean that you should miss out on having fun, however, it will help you to know you feel supported in your choice not to drink and have a plan in place for consuming alternatives to alcohol.

New guidance says no amount of alcohol is safest during pregnancy. Please share this information with your family and friends.

Five things you can do to support your pregnant partner or friend...

  1. Understand this new guidance on alcohol and support them in their choice not to drink.
  2. Take a pause from alcohol during the pregnancy by quitting or cutting down in social situations when you are together.
  3. Order non-alcoholic drinks (e.g. mocktails) and bring non-alcoholic drinks to social events. Click to visit our Mocktail Menu.
  4. Together, plan a calendar of social and recreational activities that don’t involve alcohol but involve quality time together.
  5. Help to reduce their stress levels by asking how you can help.
